PASAP Webinar: Hazing and Youth: Rights, Responsibilities & Tim's Law with Deborah McCoy
Webinar Description: Hazing has dominated headlines in recent months, most recently with the passing of “Tim’s Law”, one of the most stringent in the country. Often not recognized is that hazing is more prevalent in our high-schools than our colleges and universities. Research found that hazing is prevalent among all organized groups in HS. For many students, their first hazing experience is in middle school. This workshop will examine current research, review "Tim's Law" and the responsibility of schools.
Speaker Bio: Deborah is the SAP Coordinator for Compass Mark, providing SAP Team Trainings, as well as other workshops and trainings for agencies and schools Shas worked for 35 years in the fields of education and training, focusing on SAP, bullying, cyberbullying, sexual harassment, threat assessment and school climate and safety. Deborah worked for the PA Department of Education, in the Division of Safe & Drug-Free Schools as a Regional Coordinator, providing guidance and assistance to Student Assistance Programs in the eastern part of the state.
