PASAP Webinar: 

Grief Goes to School, featuring Christina Larkin, Youth & Family Group Coordinator, The Center for Loss and Bereavement.

Webinar Description: 

This webinar will provide an introduction to grief theory and common student reactions to grief and loss that may be seen in the educational setting. We will share helpful tips on how to engage grieving students of all ages through discussion and age-appropriate activities that provide support and compassionate care. We will offer the opportunity for dynamic discussion so that professionals can learn how to best advocate for grieving students to ensure they can be successful in their academics.


Speaker Bio:  

Christina Larkin is the dedicated Youth and Family Group Coordinator at The Center for Loss and Bereavement. With a profound commitment to supporting families through grief, Christina oversees the Nello's Corner Children's Bereavement School Year Program, providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to process loss alongside their peers. She also co-leads Camp Millie, a four-day summer bereavement camp, designed to help children find support, healing and hope. 

In addition to coordinating programs, Christina facilitates bereavement support groups for both children and adults, providing a safe environment fostering healing for those coping with loss. She also extends her expertise beyond the Center by facilitating grief support groups in schools and offering support to students and staff in their own communities. 

Christina is actively involved in providing grief education and volunteer training, equipping others with the tools to support grieving individuals effectively. She frequently participates in community events, furthering the Center's outreach and impact. 

With 14 years of service in various roles at the Center, Christina has become a cornerstone of its mission to provide compassionate and comprehensive grief support. Prior to joining the Center, she served as an elementary school counselor in the North Penn School District, where she gained valuable experience in understanding and addressing the needs of children and families. 

Christina's unwavering dedication to fostering resilience and connection makes her an integral part of the Center for Loss and Bereavement team.
